  • Denuka NirmaleeSoftware Engineer

I'm Denuka Nirmalee and currently working at IFS as a Software Engineer. I graduated from University of Moratuwa, IT Faculty. Most of the students don't like chemistry, but Charitha sir knew the way and that was really interesting. I did my A/Ls in Science stream and I could get an A pass for chemistry. Paper classes, monthly exams gave me good practice in obtaining the final results. My heartiest gratitude for our sir, for being with us and the guidance he gave. May God Bless you as always sir.

  • Ashen ShanukaB.Sc. Eng. (Hons.) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering

My name is Ashen Shanuka Ekanayake. I have completed my G.C.E. Advanced Level in 2012 and my results are 3A’s with a Z-Score of 2.8717 and became the district first in Colombo and obtained an island rank of 5. Then I was selected to the University of Moratuwa and completed my degree in obtaining B.Sc. Eng. (Hons.) in Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering. After that, I worked as an Applications Engineer at Synopsys Inc. and currently following a Ph.D. in Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Texas at Austin, USA. Here is my story! It was halfway through my A/L years and I was not very happy about the Chemistry class I was participating at that time. Then one of my friends told me about this new Chemistry teacher who had some nice model papers and an interesting way of teaching the subject. I decided to have crack at it. First, I went to face a model paper and it blew my mind. It had the right amount of complexity and the real essence of what the actual A/L exam paper looks like. On the other hand, his teaching style does not let you feel like it is a subject where you need to memorize a lot of things, instead, it explores patterns and try to explain the logic behind everything. Finally, I had excellent results on my exam and I’m grateful to Charitha sir for helping me out on this journey.

  • Hashan HasalankaB.Sc. Engineering (Hons.) in Civil Engineering

I, Hashan Hasalanka have completed my G.C.E. Advanced Level in 2012 in the Physical Science stream. I have obtained 3A’s with a Z-Score of 2.6009 and was ranked 14th in the Colombo district and 40th in the island. Along with this, I got selected to the University of Moratuwa and completed my engineering degree with a First Class by obtaining B.Sc. Engineering (Hons.) in Civil Engineering. Currently, I’m following a Master in Philosophy (MPhil) degree specialized in Structural Engineering at the University of Moratuwa to pursue my carrier at the Postgraduate Level. I joined Charitha sir’s class from the very beginning of my AL’s and as I could remember, there were only 17 students in the whole class and then the rest is history. This was mainly because of the way he teaches, the attractive teaching style, the way he guides the students to the exam and many more. The paper classes, as well as the mock exams on well planned time intervals under the real AL exam environment, add more sparkles to the way he guides the students towards the success path. There are things that I admire the most among the things which I learned under the guidance of him. Those are inspiration and encouragement to do the best and be the best in what you do. It is not just the exam you want to win, it is the life and you get plenty of worth and valuable advice regarding that from Charitha sir and in his words, it is “Be the author of your own life story” and I believe that I became the author of mine. I remember him saying once, “Reach the top of your career and be the best in what you do where no one can replace you”, which is another thing I have added to my priority list. Moreover, Charitha sir is one of the iconic respectable characters that I admire the most in my life. I’m forever grateful to have learned from him, to have worked with him and will continue to do so in the future too.
